MURDERS ON STATION.

BACKBLOCKS TRAGEDY. TWO QTTEEirSLANDERS SLAIN. BRISBANE, January 2. Details of the tragedy at Eddington station, where Thomas Fitzgerald, a yardman, is believed to have shot George Humble, the overseer, and a man named Vivian before committing suicide, indicate that Fitzgerald stole the shot gun with which he committed the deeds.: After shooting Humble he fired several shots at the inmates of the Eddington homestead. He eluded immediate capture and escaped into the bush. When a constable was approaching to arrest him, Fitzgerald, using the gun, shot himself dead.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
