A RATS' PLAYGROUND.

(To the J£ditor.> Sir, —The dump at the bottom of Grafton Road opposite the bowling green is a disgrace. It is infested with rats, and in the evening about 6 or 7 o'clock they can be seen running about by the dozen. They seem a new species to mc, with almostblack coats and about twice the size of the ordinary gTey. In fact I have never seen such large rats before. There is not much danger from them at present, as they seem to have plenty of i food, but once" the rainy Eeason starts the residents of Grafton can look for trouble. Would it not be better to trap and poison them now, as they are a nuisance and a danger to health!—l am, etc., RATEPAYER.
