—^——^. •The directors' report of tlie Kauri Timber Company states :—''Tour directors Intro pleasure tn submitting the lAlanccfifaeet for tbe third .year of the company's operations ended toe 31st .August, 1923, and recommend a dividend for the past half-year of 4 per cent, makinj a total of 8 per cent for the year.. The profits for the year, alter providing for depredation, income tax, etc., amount to £74,041 15/7, less Interim dividend of < per cent paid in June £30,000; curt »f -which It is proposed to pay a further dividend of 4 per cent, £ 30,000; aad the balance, £14,041 15/7.,' added to the junount brought forward at August 31, 1922, £13,728 0/2, leave* the balance to be carried forward £27,769 15/»- We have to report with great • regret the death of our much esteemed colleague, Mr. J. 8. McDonald, in February last. The vacancy on the board so caused has been filled by tbe appointment of .Mr, E. J. Besertj.
