KOAD VERSUS RAILWAY. (By Telegrapn.—Own CorrewoDtfeat.! WHANGAREI, this day. In connection with the question of I road or railway outlet from Waipu to Oakleigh, a meeting to get the opinion! 1 of those interested will be held in Waipe this afternoon, dealing more especially with the position where 'counterproposals for a good road are offered ia substitution of the railway originally promised. The proceedings wfil be of » committee nature, but it has been agreed j that the final result of the deliberations I will be issued in the form of a statement j for publication. A meeting of a similar nature took place at Ruakaka yesterday, at which Mr. A. J. Murdoch, M.P. for Marsden, was present. To-day's meeting was called by the president of ti» j Waipu-Ruakaka Railway League.
