OFFICERS' BALL.
• I A BBILLIAXT SCEXE. [ 1 Scots Hall presented a brilliant scene ; Inst evening when the president and 1 members of tie Officers' Club held their ' annual "At Home" and ball. Th e hall had been profusely decorated for the j occasion with streamers and hansins 1 , balloons, while pot plants were arranged nbout the entrance and the stage. A. , military band on a raised dais, enshrouded with palms and bamboos, discoursed enjoyable music during the evening. The entrance to the hall was I flanted with field guns, and the guests were received as they entered and welcomed by Lieut-Colonel Stevenson, who was assisted in his duties of host by Miss f-'tevenson, to whom each guest was presented, and who also welcomed them. The- number of uniforms minjrled with the bright dresses made up a gay scene when the opening measure, an official set of lancers, was danced. Lieut.Oolonel Stevenson danced with Mrs.Watson. Surgeon-Commander Watson with • Miss Stevenson, Lieut.-Colonei Tracy Inglis danced with Mrs. George Bloomfield. Mr. J. M. Brigham with Mrs. Molesworth Tolhurst, Lieut.-Colonel , Hardie Veil with Mrs. Quartley, Lieut.Colonel Shera with Mrs. Napier, Lieut.Colonel Lloyd with Mrs. Brisham, and Captain Quartley with Mrs. Lind Mitchell.
