COVENANT OF LEAGUE.

MEETING NEXT WEEK AT TOWN HALL. The urgent need of every community among civilised peoples raising its voice in support of the covenant of the League of Nations was never greater than to-day, when the whole fabric is in danger of being irremediably destroyed. This was affirmed at a meeting held in the City Council Chamber on Thursday, when it was decided that a public meeting be held in the Town j Hall on Wednesday evening next, at which resolutions will be submitted urging the New Zealand representatives to support to their utmost the covenant ; of the League, and feo secure the | pence of the world through justice. Cable messages will be cent from the meeting to the Right Hon. W. F. Massey, Sir James Allen, High Commissioner for New Zealand, and Lord Robert Cecil.
