The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated sta instant, from the High Commissioner lor New Zealand, London: — WooL—Sales opened yesterday <Tuesday). The attendance was exceptionally large, with a good general demand. Continental buyers operating freely. lierlno offering* were, small and firm at prices fully equal to last closing rates. Fine and coarse croisbred ruled from par to 5 per cent higher, while medium crossbred advanced 5 per cent, and scoured and slipe crossbred met a. Keen demand at -from pax to 5 .per cent dearer. LONDON TALLOW MARKET. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, limited, are m receipt of the following cable from their head office, London, under date the 3th inst.: — Tallow.—Offered. 1870 casks; sold, 1010 casks. Price unchanged to 6d higher. Deman running chiefly on better grades, Fine mutton, 4i/t> to 43/; G.C.JL, 4U/3. Xew Zealand Loan nnd Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have rceeivod the following cablegram from their London house under date values for the following descriptions:— Fine mutton. 42/ per cwt: good beef, 40/8 per cwt : mixed, 36/U per cwt. Market upward tendency.
