BISHOP RESIGNS.
DR. TALBOT OF WINCHESTER. LONDON, August 1. The Right Rev. Edward Stuart Talbot, D-D., Bishop of Winchester, has resigned his see.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.) Dr. Talbot was Dean of Sydney (New South Wales) in 1012, and Archdeacon of the see in 1012. He was examining chaplain to the Archbishop of Sydney and Commissary of the diocese. Aβ senior chaplain to the New South Wales military forces he served in the great war from 1914 to 1916. He was editor of the Sydney "Diocesan Magazine." Educated at Manchester Grammar School and Emanuel College, Cambridge, he was a Scholar, Exhibitioner and Thorpe Scholar. He took the Caiua Greek Testament Prize in 1005, Firstclass Theological Tripos, 1905, Jeremie Septuagent Prize, 1907, and the Mason Biblical Hebrew Prize.
