T FROST IN SUBURBS Following on a-keen frosty night this morning again broke fine, adding another day to the unbroken spell of rainless weather which has been experienced since last Thursday. The thermometer at the Albert Park Observatory did not fall below 33 degrees, but in the suburbs it was lower, and in many parts quite a thick frost covered the ground. FIGURES FOR JULY. Owing to .the fact that no rain fell during the 24 hours ended at 9 o'clock this morning, the approximate total of 2.81 inches given in the "Star" yesterday is also the actual total for July. Last month rain fell on 19 days, and the heaviest fall was on July 4 when .60 inch of rain was recorded. Thie makes a total of 33.66 inches for the past seven months. The mean barometric reading for the month of July, as recorded by the Government Observer, Captain W. W. Stuart, was 29.912 inches, as compared with 29.707 inches for June. The maximum reading was 30.447 inches, recorded ion July 29, and the minimum 29.453 ! inches on July 5. The mean maximum temperature was 55.57 degrees and the mean minimum 44.7 decrees. The extreme I maximum temperature recorded last month was 62 degrees on July 18, and the extreme minimum 35.6 degrees on jjulv 7. The coldest night was also on July 7, when the exposed thermometer at Albert Park registered 31 degrees. The average daily velocity of the wind last month was 148.6 miles. The windiest day was on July 14, when the total velocity for the 24 hours was 336 miles. A total of 137 hours 40 minutes of bright sunshine was recorded in July, as compared with 86 hours 10 minutes of last June. The sunniest day was on July 23, with 8 hours 10 minutes of sunshine. There were only two sunless days last month.
