GOLDFIELDS BRANCH MEETING. ■JBy Telesraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. The annual meeting of members of the goldfields branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute was held in the Wailii District High School, Mr. G. H. Taylor presiding over a fair attendance, including representatives from Paeroa and Te Aroha. Opportunity' was taken by several members to refer to the approaching departure of the vice-presi-dent (Mr. H. T. Gibson), master of the District High School, who is shortly leaving Waihi to take up duties as headmaster at Te Papapa School, Auckland. All warmly referred to the splendid qualities of Mr. Gibson, and it was decided to place on record the valuable services rendered by him to the Institute and to education generally. Mr. Gibson suitably responded. The balancesheet, showing a credit balance of £16 10/ C. was adopted. Officers for the ensuing term were selected as under: President, Mr. A. Bell; vice-president, Mr. G. K. Hamilton; delegate Auckland centre, Mr. G. K. Hamilton;, management committee. Miss Shaw, and Messrs T. Aicken, G. H. Taylor, J. S. Phillips, and G. Large; auditor, Mr. C. F. Sims; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. T. Armstrong.
