SPAHLINGER TREATMENT.
HOPE FOR CONSUMPTIVES. SERUMS FOR EMGWUID. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, July 23. The "Evening Standard" states that great steps are being taken ensuring adequate financial arrangements for obtaining Spahlinger treatment in cases of lung consumption. Hitherto the largest handicap to its use in England has been the existence of an agreement under which one man controlled the whole output of essential serums and vaccines. This man provided money for research, hence- the concession, but he is now willing to forego this advantage. Dr. Spahlinger, in return for financial assistance from the British Government, is willing to supply SO per cent of the serums and vaccines from his laboratory for use in England. (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
