PAY IN THE. NAVY.
REDUCTIONS NEXT YEAR. 150 P.C. ABOVE 1914 RATE. JKeceived 2 p.m.) LONDON, June 21. The Select Committee on the Naval Estimates recommends that officers' and men's pay should be reviewed in 1924, expressing the opinion that the administrative staff needs reorganisation and reduction.
The report points out that seamen's pay is still 150 per cent above the prewar rate, and they are still receiving post-war marriage allowances, costing a million annually, wliile only one-sixth of the oirtccrs' present pay Is liable to reduction.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
