UNPLEASANT WEATHER i CONTINUES.

COLD SNAP EXPEKIENCED. 1

Frequent showers of rain were expert* enced in Auckland yesterday, and towarde evening they became heavier. A severe downpour was experienced about 8 o'clock last night, while about halfpast ten the fall was torrential. The rain continued throughout the night and tlus-early hours of the morning, another severe shower being experienced about 7 o'clock this morning. As the day wore on the weather cleared, and at noon a blue sky and eun were visible. The cold, however, was keenly felt, and many people in the city'conflned to work in offices found the low temperature to be very discomforting. The rainfall fof the 24 hours ended at 9 o'clock thie morning was Join, making a total of 5.57 in. With the exception of June 5, rain has fallen on every day this month. The highest fall for one day to date was on June IC, when .70in was recorded. Another very rainy day was June 11, .61 in being- registered by the gauge. The highest fall for June is 10.41 in, recorded in 1889, and the lowest is 1.47, which fell in 1891 and 1013.
