WAR.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —If would be foolish to endorse "Tin Hat' , in his "ultimate recourse AvJien all other peaceful means fail," as rhn Christian ideal has never failed. The fact is, it lias never been practised nationally. Medicine is not made to decorate chemists' shops with, and if the. nations of the world would only drink deep of genuine Christianity they would cease to produce such personifications of unsubdued national passion as the leaders in any war in the world's history. With no leaders there would be no organised machine of force, sufl'ering, torture, destruction, and death. —I am. etc.. RETURXED SOLDIER.
