The New Zealand Co-operative DairyCompany received a cable from its Lon-; don manager, Mr. Wright, this morning,! stating that in the face of the reduction in Danish butter on Wednesdy by 6/- per cwt to 134/- and 130/-, he had raised Anchor brand New Zealand butter from 144/-. the lowest price touched, to 14G/-. Again on Thursday the price was raised to 150/-, and on Saturday to 154/-. Mr. Wright reports steady sales, and says that although fluctuations may occur he is confident of a better market. Danish is now selling at 146/- f.o.b. It is further reported that cheese has reacted owing to a temporary shortage on spot notwithstanding heavy shipments afloat. The cable indicates that America is buying Canadian cheese. New Zealand white and coloured are quoted at 90/-. Mr. Wright considers that the market will remain fairly firm for about a fortnight, when there is a i probability of the downward movement [ being resumed.
