THE FINAL DAY.

RECORD FOR WAIKATO.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. To-day is the final Ecssion of the ' greatest show which the Waikato Winter Show Association has ever held. Saturday's attendance proved larger than that of any day of any previous show. The additional number of people admitted was approximately 250 more ! than the number passing through the ' gates on the same day last year. .

In addition to the attraction afforded by the orchestra and the hundreds of exhibits and side-showe, there were elocutionary competitions in the afternoon and evening Another attraction to many people was the dog show, run by the Hamilton Kennel Club, where about 300 dogs were on exhibit. The elocution results were:— Recitation in Character (under 16). — Isaac Ousley, 1; Edna Marsh, 2. Shakespearean Recital. —B. Paul, 1; Hugh Williams, 2. The results in the Children's Pet section were:—Guinea Pigs: Nelson Waiae, 1; Ethel Schneider, 2; Archie Fodringham, 3. Rabbits: Emmie Harman, 1; Marie Hawkins, 2; Arch. Fodringham, 3. Cats: (long-haired torn), Miss C. Johnson, 1; E. Hayes, 2; F. Evans, 3. Cat (long-haired tabby): Miss D. Fishei\ 1; Miss C. Johnson, 2; E. Hayes, 3. Short-haired torn: Miss J. Goodall, 1 and 2; Miss A. Larney, 3. Short-haired tabby: Miss E. Bennett, 1; Miss L. Fear, 2; N. Steel 3. Other varieties: Miss E Kelly, 1 and 2.
