HOCKEY.
KING'S BIRTHDAY CARNIVAL.
GAMES IN THE MUD.
The annual seven-aeide tournament, eportß, and games carnival promoted by the Auckland Hockey Association is being held at Remuera to-day.
The games commenced at 10.30. Wea-! ther conditions early in the day were' most disappointing, and heavy showers' of rain proved annoying obstacles to I players. The playing lields quickly became muddy and slippery, and sliding and falling were common occurrences! j However, entries were heavier than last! year, and play generally was of a high ' standard, although fast dribbling and passing were impossible. Three challenge cups are to be awarded during the day on maximum points, gained in the hockey and running events, the Trevor Davis Cup, the Havard Cup, and the Rupert C. Moore Memorial Cup for the primary school gaining the most points. This was carried off by Remuera with 34 points, Stanley Bay runners-up with 25 points. The winners of the other two trophies will not be known until this evening. Results are:—
