I AN INTERESTING SOCIAL. THE MOUNTED RIFLEMEN. The members of the Auckland ' Mounted Rifles held a reunion in the Masonic Hall, Princes Street, last evening, when thcro was a record gathering I Members from (ho Ray of Islands to the' King Country were present, and there were many pleasant meetings of old comrades. Major Whitohorn presided, and there ! were also present Chaplain Williams and other senior officers. Early in tlie proceedings the men stood in silence in memory of the regiment's dead. | Messages from absent comrades nnd reports of the progress of others were received enthusiastically, and many toasts were honoured with great entlut- ! siasni. Visitors representing other New \ Zealand units, and also tbe Imperial , regiments, were present, nnd tho whole proceedings were most successful.
