CONCERT AT MOTUIHI.
The tedium of quarantine was relieved last evening by a concert held at Motuihi by the passengers who did not go on •by the Makura. Vocal and instrumental 1 items were contributed, and it was cvi- ! dent they were much appreciated. Those responsible for the entertainment were Miss Joan Craig and Miss Nancy Hunt. A collection was taken up for the benefit of Dr. Barnardo's Homes. Tlie programmes wore also sold, and a water sketch of R.M.s. Makura by 'Master M. j Longdale. The latter was signed by all I the passengers. The result of the conI cert is that Dr. Barnardo's Homes will I benefit to the extent of £12. This/concert would not have been possible had not the Health Department sent down a piano, while friends in Auckland forwarded music.
