GOVERNMENT SUGAR CONTROL
m TO END IN AUGUST. WILL NOT AFFECT PRICES. The, Government control of sugar, which was a war measure, will shortly be lifted. The Prime Minister states that the return to pre-war conditions ia regard to this commodity will take place not later than the middle of August. The Hon. W. Downie Stewart. Minister of Internal Affairs, is making the necessary arrangements for the change, which, of course, when it takes place will not have any direct effect on the price of sugar. Prospects for the coming Fiji crop are reported to be much better than last year.
