THE HANDICAPPING QUESTION.
OWNERS' VIEWS. A deputation from the North Island Trotting Owners and Breeders' Association waited on the Auckland and Otahuhu Trotting Club yesterday afternoon, to discuss the question of handicapping. The deputation consisted of Messrs. A. Lowe (president, N. Cunningham, D. Brophy, W. Kelsey and E. Groat, and Mr. F. W. Edwards, the handlcapper was also present. The clubs were represented by a sub-commit-tee, and after Mr. Brophy, who acted as spokesman, had enlarged upon the views of the association, as contained ln tbelr letter, it was decided that the sub-com-mittee would meet later, when the points raised would be considered, and a reply would be sent to the association on any decision that may be arrived at. It transpires that Whipcord was very sore after contesting the Grandstand Steeplechase at Wanganui last Saturday, and is not likely to fulfil his Great Northern engagements.
