_ A meeting of the committee of the Auckland Fruit Council was held last evening, all the members being present but Mr. !•*. ! Firth, from whom an apology was received. I The following were appointed officers pro •tern, until the first meeting of the council is held:—President, Mr. 11. S. Izard: vicepresident, Mr. 11. Pal-ridge; secretary, Mr. IG. A. Green ; committee, Messrs. R. H. Travera, C. J. Angus, F. Firth. Roy Becroft iW. G Williams, C. O.
