SUNDAY RUGBY.
A WEST COAST PROBLEM. 2..Z.R.F.U. OBJECTS. ——-— i The question of Sunday Rugby was raised at the meeting of the _Jew Zealand Rugby Union on Wednesday night by a letter from the Buller Union. The union had six senior teams, three in the country and three in town, and as Saturday play was impossible in alternate weeks owing to work, the union asked if the association could give its sanction to a Sunday match. An objection was forwarded J?y the Rival Club, Westport. The chairman said he did not think that the union had any jurisdiction; the matter was one for local settlement. "I do not think official contests should be played on Sunday," said Mr. Wylie. "I have no objection myself to Sunday play, but we must consider the feeling 3 of those who do object. I move that this union expresses its disapproval of official matches being played on Sunday." The motion was seconded by Mr. A. C. Kitto and carried.
