0 • A social to welcome the Rev. George H. and Mrs. Gibb to Knox Church was held in Knox Hall last evening, a large and appreciative gathering being present. Rev. D. D. Scott presided, and there were associated with him on the platform Rev. Canon and Mrs. Pereival James, Revs. Bonald S. Watson, L. H. Hunt, G. M. Macdonald, and Mr. A. Murray Bell, session clerk. The speeches of welcome were delivered by Revs. Canon Pereival James, Ronald S. Watson and D. D. Scott. Vocal items were rendered by the Misses Lintott and Mr. Crump. Thereafter Rev. D. D. Scott vacated the chair and handed over the ' meeting to the Rev. George H. Gibb, who delighted those present by his reply . to the various speeches, which was de- ■ livered in good style and in a happy I vein. He asked for the co-operation of ' the congregation, if his work in Knox 1 Church is to be the success that is hoped " for it. Mr. H. Murray Bell, on behalf of the congregation, presented the Rev. i D. D. Scott with a slight token of their * appreciation as their moderator during « the vacancy. The meeting then resolved I itself into* a social function, and after * supper the introduction of Mr. and Mrs. - Gibb to the members of the congregation 1 present. A very successful meeting was t .brought to a close by the singing of the * Doxology. .
