. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WBLILINiGTON', Wednesday. What may be the last meeting of the present council of the New Zealand Rugby • Union was held to-night. The I chairman said the Olympio council was I taking over the sports at the Empire Exhibition and the Olympic games. A letter from New South Wales (Rugby Lnion emphasised the positive necessity of a visit by a team from New Zealand early during the coming season. Without such a visit the Now South Wales Union would be unable to hold the show ground, which was the only ground in Sydney statable for important fixtures. The show authorities were pressing for a list of such matches. The position was so serious that the union was prepared to send a report of its committee to >ew Zealand. In order to meet the union, reported that a letter was sent on February 16 asktai. the New South Wales Union if it would accept a visit from a Jlaori team of 22 players and a manager this season, the team to play three or four matches, but to Mr. W.
