LOST FROM A SHIP.

OFFICER AND FIVE SAILORS.

BARQUE'S STORMY VOTAGE. (Ry Cable.—rress Association.—Copyright.) (Received 10.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The four-masted Danish barque Sterna has reported on arrival that the third officer and five members of the crew were lost in a storm during the latter part of the voyage of 133 days from Sunsvale. A young member of the crew had fallen overboard when endeavouring to shorten sail. The third officer and four members of the crew manned a boat and went in search of him. when the storm broke. Huge seas washed the Sterna and blinding rain blotted from view the rescue party. Though the barque hovered round the vicinity for three days the party was not seen again.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
