PRISONERS HANDED OVER

WARSHIPS LEAVE SMYRNA. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 9.30 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE Feb. 27. Adna Bey communicated to General Hanngton a friendly personal message from Ismet Pasha, stating that two British airmen from Chanak. recently captured by the Turks, would be liberated immediately. The message added that General Harington's word that aircraft had been ordered not to cross the lines of demarcation, was quite good enough for the Turkish Government. The British airmen will be sent to Smyrna, where they will embark on a warship.

Authoritative sources state that British warships, with the exception of one light cruiser, are withdrawing from Smyrna. It is stated that this is a friendly act toward Turkey with the hope of assisting Tsmet Pasha to overcome the extremists at Angora.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
