Dr. E, S. Handy, and Ml*. Handy of Honolulu, are at the Central Ho*el Pr. Handy is ethnologist of tlie Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum and Mrs. Handy is associated in the Polynesian folk ways department of this well-known institution. Sir Horace and L«<iy Bayer arrived at Auckland thii morning from Wellington. They are staying at the Central Hotel. Mr. J. Caughley, Director of Education is on a visit to Auckland, and is staying at the Central Hotel. Mr. F. W. Schramm, deputy registrar at the Auckland Supreme Court, was made the recipient of ft silver cigarette case from colleagues in the office, on the occasion of his retirement from the Justice Department to take up private practice.
