BARITONE SOLO COMPETITION.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. The North Island Brass Band contest, in which nine bands are competing commenced this morning, with the baritone solos, which resulted.—G. Cummins (Wellington Artillery) 91 points 1; A. A. McDonald (4th Wellington Regiment), and R. Sinclair (Auckland Artillery) 90 points," 2; J. Cosgrove (Palmersto Municipal) 89 points; A. Gray (Masterton Municipal) 80; B. Williams (Auckland City) 70.
