MISS SHAND WINS AGAIN. SYDNEY. February 25. The quarter-mile swimming champion ship on Saturday resulted: Miss 0. Shand, 1: Miss V. Walrond, 2: Miss W r ylie, 3. Six competitors started. Miss Shand won by four yards in 6m 9 l-3ft Miss Wylie was 25 yards behind. The competitors moved off from an excellent start, but Miss Walrond and Miss Shand soon forged ahead. Miss Shand assumed the lead after a furlong had been covered, and comfortably maintained it when challenged in the last lap by Miss Walrond—(A. and N.Z. Cable. ) MILE CHAMPIONSHIP. ADELAIDE. February 25. The Australian mile swimming championship resulted: Beanrepaire. 1: Christie. 2: Beaglrhole, 3. Time. 24m 25 3-ss.
