OATH OF ALLEGIANCE.
PROPOSED ABOLITION. NEEDS PARLIAMENTARY SANCTION. (By Tclegrapß.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Minister of Customs recently submitted to Cabinet a proposal to abolish the necessity of British citizens taking the oath of allegiance on entry into New Zealand. This course has been approved, but as the matter is regulated by statute no alteration can be made until Parliament amends the law.
