FAREWELL PRESENTATION.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAim. Saturday. A large gathering assembled in the grounds of the Wailii District Hospital this afternoon, when a garden party was held to bid farewell to Doctor and Mrs. Ewart Brcfwn, who are proceeding to England at an early date. The Mayor (Mr. D. Donaldson) presided and amongst those present were Drs. Bruce Mackenzie (Auckland), Little (Paeroa), Short (Waihi), and McMurray Cole (successor to Dr. Brown as medical superitendent). During the afternoon the Mayor, on behalf of the citizens, presented Dr. Brown with a cabin travelling trunk and a wallet and fountain pen from the Hospital Board. Mrs. Brown was the recipient of a suit case. Mr. Donaldson referred to the excellent work accomplished by Dr. Brown as medical superintendent, and to the reputation gained by him throughout the district whilst at Waihi. The Mayor also took occasion to extend a welcome to Dr. McMurray Cole.
