CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS. SYDNEY, December 27. The Union Company has decided to man the stokehold and deck departments of the Niagara with volunteer labour, as not one of the old crew has applied for re-engagement.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) LYTTELTON SEAMEN MEET. HOPE OF AGREEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. A meeting of seamen was held at Lyttelton to-day. The business wae not divulged, but it is stated unofficially that the eeamen are hopeful of returning to their ships early in the New Year.
