AMERICAN POLITICS.
(To the Editors •^ir,— x \s one of the early colonists of the country, may I ask your readers to eafefulty peruse an article under the above heading which appears in your issue of Saturday last? When doing so, they must- bear in mind that this is the America that has for some months past been held up to us as a shining example of what an up-to-date and enlightened nation should be. We even imported American platform speakers to instruct us in the way we should go so as to attain the great heights that had been reached in the United States. To those \vh«> have carefully studied the course of world events for many year?, America is *l>out the very last country to be followed in all matters relating to national or local politics.— I am, etc, OLD COLONIST.
