THE CITY WATER SUPPLY.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Can you tell mc whether tTie water supplied to the city at present could be described as a food as well as a drink? and would it comply with the Pure Foods Act? I have been thinking about purchasing a first-class microscope and entertaining the children with a] series of investigations of "Pond Life in the Bathroom," "Plague Origins," "Zoo by-products." etc. I really think the public should protest without delay as] the filth gets thicker each day, and it is | impossible to get a decent cup of tea even, and as to drinking the watfir unboiled, I. for one, would not like to attempt it. Purely someone will see toj this vital matter before the dog days. I am, etc.. PUBLIC. SAFETY.
