Great Hope and Don Wild struck their gait first, but Mlnton Derby soon ran to the front, leading past the 6tand. followed by Great Hope, Comedy Chief. Kewple, Blue Mountain King, Pedro I'onto, First Carbine, Steel Bell. Moneymaker, Grand Voyage, Don Wild. Snowshoe, Nita Bell Gold Boy, Dean Dillon, Woodvale, Globe Derby, and Clarrle Daley In that order. Mlnton Derby was still in charge as they raced along tbe back, a length clear of Great Hope, with Comedy Chief next, and as the»- massed the stand Mlnton Derby still hao, his advantage. •Great Hope being his nearest attendant, and then came Comedy Chief, Pedro Ponto. Don Wild, Kewple, Moneymaker, Blue Mountain King. Steel Bell, Grand Voyage, with the others bunched, Woodvale being last. Going along the back Great Hope moved up to Minbon Derby, and the pair raced across the top together, with Comedy Chief within striking distance, and Kewple, Don Wild, Pedro Ponto. and Steel Bell following, and Moneymaker heading the others. Mlnton Derby and Great Hope came round the turn locked together, with •Comedy Chief on their wheels, and an exciting finish resulted in Mlnton Derby staying long enough to get the decision by half a length from Comedy Chief, which was a head In front of Great Ho* Kewple got fourth, and then came Steel Bell. Nltn Bell. Snowshoe, Blue Mountain King, Moneymaker, Gold Boy. Grand Voyage, Clarrle Daley, Dean Dillon, Pedro Ponto, and First Carbine, the last pair being Globe Dillon and Woodvale. Time, 4.32 1-3. Going along the back Mutu, Blundaberg and Bnz Buz were In a bunch, and Nipper, Wimmera King and Haricot following In that order. Blundaberg and Mutu came into the straight locked (together, while Wimmera King got through next the Tall and Joined Mutu, an exciting finish seeing Mutu get the decision hy a bead from Blundaberg, with Wimmera King a head further back, third, a length and a-half in front of Haricot. First Fashion was next, and Buz Buz, Nipper and Wild Nut followed. Time, 4.52. Wimmera King was favourite. ACCEPTANCES FOR SECOND DAY.
