ALLEGED BURGLARY AT TARINGAMOTU.

ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. (From Our Own Correspondent.t TAUMARrNTI, Thursday. At the Magistrate's Court this afternoon, before Messrs. A. S. Laird and J. 'Maher. -1.l Vs. the case in which .Tame* Ferdinand MaoLarn and George Carolen 'Brennan were charged that on or about February 21. at Taringamotu, they did break and enter the dwellinghou.se of Haupapa AVhakauruhanga, and did feteal £1700 in money and a post-office savings bank book showing a credit of .££oo, was concluded. Sergeant conducted the case for the police, and 'Mr. C. C. IMarsack appeared for accused. Evidence was given by 17 witnesses. The accused pleaded not guilty, and were committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was allowed in two sureties to each man of £500 each, making the total ibail £2000.
