CAMBRIDGE NEWS.
CAMBRIDGE FOiVER BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Power Board was held in the Council Chambers on Friday evening, when Mr. Mervyn Wrils presided. The secretary of the Xgaruawahia Chamber of Commerce wrote, staling that his Chamber had noticed supgeetinnß that Horn Horn power should be delivered to Auckland, and lie was instructed to write the Bo.ml suggesting that in such a case sufficient power should be reserved for local consumption, present and fnture. Thej had no objections to Auckland receiving power, but wished to safeguard the Wa\kato supply. Derided to reply that the Board was in accord with the Chamber, and would give Its support. It was resolved ti> write the Public Works Department, stating that as the Department were making a profit the Board considered they ought to reduce the charges for power to Hoards. The chairman renorted that, .ilthouah the Board bad asked Messrs TurnhuU and Jones to do so. they had not yet taken step. to terminate tueir i-ontrai-t with the Board.
