Tlu> eightcpntli anniversary of the formation of the Auckland Tramways Bcnc'it Society was celebrated in tho concert chamber of the Town Hall la-it night by a smoke concert which proved a most enjoyable affair. Mr. A. E. Ford. general manager of thy Auckland Tramways, presided over :i very large attendance and the evening passed with song and mnsie. not forgetting at intervals talk and refreshments. Among the visitors were Messrs. Diekson and Savage, and representative* of the City Council and other local bodies. Arrangements ■uere in the eapanlv hands of Mr. P. M. Fnrrelly (secretary!, assisted by au enthusiastic committee.
