DECREASK IN" TOXXAGE. Arrivals at Auckland during September (reported Captain G. 11. J.acy to the Harbour Hoard to-day) consisted of two Royal Mail steamers, ten large cargo steamers, twelve intercolonial or Island traders, i> coastal steamers, three Government steamers, two intercolonial sailing vessels. to»ethvr with 46.) local coastal vessels, making a jrrand total of r>lo vessels of :>24.20.1 gross tons and I:H.-26(> net tons, as follows: Overseas, 75.1)63: intercolonial 40,881; coastal, 107,740: total, -«4,-20:t. As compared with the corresponding period for laet year, the largo, shipping showed an inervase of six vessels, but a decrease of -23,423 pross tons and 13.2(18 net tons. The local coastal vessels' return showed an increase of (14 vessels of 6130 gross tons and 2650 net tons. Concerning tli« port of Mamikau. Captain K. 11. (Jibbons reported that the arrivals consisted of 30 vessels, with an affarepate of lfi,7.V; gross tons and 7f>77 net tons. Compared with last year thii showed an increase, of nine vessels, 5849 gross tone and 2:i2!> net tons.
