A TRAINER'S FEE.
i RECOVERED IX COURT. i ilr. J. E. Wilson, S.M., had before him to-day a case brought by William ritewart, trainer, of Greenlane (Mr. J Player) a.sainst A. Cowper (Mr. J. J. ; Sullivan), to recover £14 fi/10, alleged Ito be due for feeding and training > racing mare. : In answer to Mr. Sullivan, the plaintiff said he had trained a mare for • pood period and was always paid, except for the time no.v claimed. He had devoted all the time he should hays done to training the mare. He was ■=u:ng for four weeks. He was away at Ka\vaka:wa and Darsraville for eleven days during that four weeks. He left the mare in the hands of a man who was a painter by trade, who fed the horse during the tim€ witness was away. The man had been with him two years to train horse.- under the supervision of witne?n. Mr. Sullivan: Did the mare win a race?— No. What do you attribute that to?— To slowness.
