CITY AND SUBURBAN. ] The Auckland and Suburban Drainage | i Board meeting was held last evening, i i Mr. Geo. Baildon in the chair, in the | i abspncc of the Mayor. < The Auckland Town Clerk wrota etat- i ing that One Tree Hill Road Board had requested permission to connect the i drainage system of portion of the road : district with the city sewer in Empire ■ Road, and inquiring if the Board had any objection to euch connection. The engineer-secretary reported that provided the area referred to was incor- : porated in the drainage district there I was no need for objection. Adopted. Mount Eden town clerk applied for permission to construct certain sewvrs, and this was granted subject to by-laws. The Tsmaki West Road Board wrote : etating it was impracticable to arrange i for disposal of night-soil into the Board's eyetem. and the matter would not be proceeded with. The same Board '• wrote requesting the Board to consider entering into an agreement for the use of the main outfall for the sewerage j system of portion of the road district, : comprising approximately 1000 acres, and of a capital value of about £412.000. The Controller and Auditor-General returned the Board's annual balance-sheet. °nding March 31. duly certified. It disciOßOd details set out reported upon by the engineer-secretary at the Board* last meeting. The public debt of the Board was shown (o be £480.500. and the sinking funds in the hands of the C'ommis-1 woiiOre at that date amounted to £28,920 14/8. which total had Yon increased up to September 20 to £.'50,442 112. The Bank of New Zealand approved of the Board's overdraft limit of £7000 in the aggregate fund account.
