FIVE MILES FROM SHORE. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LOSTDON', Septemher 24. Toth, tie Boston swimmer, after sixteen hours' swimming from Dover, got to within five miles of Cape Grig Nez, on the French shore, and then abandoned the attempt.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
