Mr. F. C. Hadfield, of Marton, is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. A. Sims, of Christchurch, are at the GTand Hotel. The Hon. G. J. Garland, M.L.C., arrived from Wellington yesterday. Sir Edwin Mitehelson. M.L.C.. left Auckland for Wellington last evening. Mr. Robert F. Jones, of Dunedin, is at present in Auckland. Mr. E. G. Jones, 8.A., B.Sc. has been appointed assistant lecturer at the Auckland Training College. The Risrht Hon. Srinvasa Sustri is due at Wellington from Sydney by the Maunganui on Monday. i Hγ. P. Hally has arrived in Auckland to take up the duties of Conciliation Commissioner in succession to Mr. T. Harle Giles. Mr. J. W. Collins, secretary of the ■Department of Industries and Commerce, is visiting Auckland in connection with the Empire Exhibition Mission. On the application of Mr. R. L. Ziman, Mr. L. F. Rudd was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court by Mr. I Justice Stringer. Mr. W. H. G. Kensington was admitted to the Bar by Mr. .lustier Stringer on the motion of Mr. C. J. Tunks. Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Bankart, of Auckland, who have lienr visitingr Kuropp nnd America, returned yesterday by the Makura. Sir William Beach Thomas, the well known war correspondent. was a through passenger by the Makura from Vancouver. He will probably return to the Dominion in November. The Hon. Sir Charles is the retiring Chief Justice of Fiji, and after a short stay in the Dominion, will leave Wellington for London. The Hon. G. J. Anderson. Minister of Mines and Labour, will return to Auckland this evening from the Thames dis- ! trict. Accompanied by his private secretary, Mr. F. M. Sherwood, the Minister will return to Wellington to-morrow night.
