THE RAILWAY OFFICERS.
MR. McVILLY WELCOMED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The New Zbaland Railway Officers' annual conference concluded to-day. During the morning the general manager, Mr. R. W. McVilly, by invitation visited the conference, and received a hearty welcome from the delegates. Mr. McVilly dealt with several matters that were placed before him by the delegates, and later had what he described as a "heart to heart talk between one railwayman speaking to other rnilwaymen." At the conclusion of his address Mr. McVilly was heartily thanked by the president, Mr. J. R. Robertson, on behalf of the delegates.
The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. J. R. Robertson (Wellington) ; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. R. S. Skinner (Auckland), C. R. Bel] (Dannevirkc). and F. K. MacKay (Dunedin): treasurer, Mr. L. Barclay (Wellington)-, auditors, Messrs. H. Valentine and P. M. Muir. The executive committee, in addition to the president, vice-presidents, and treasurer, was selected by ballot as follows: — Messrs. M. J. Forde, F. E. Hunt, W. A. Finlayson, C, W. R. Watson, A. N. Loughton, J. Laydon, and E. W. Barnes.
