HON. .1. G. COATES. I A esterday afternoon, accompanied by the Hon. Frederic [.an.. M.P.. the Hon. J. G. Coates. Mini-ter of Public A\ orks. inspected certain roads under the jurisdiction of the Manttkau County Council for which grants were requested. In reply to a deputation rtvjuestin. a £ for C sulisiely on _sOOO. tite Minister said he could not see his way to authorise the grant. At Onehunga a deputation was introduced by Frederic Lang, requesting that a post nfficte should be erected at Robinson's corner. ■ The Minister said be had received certain information on the matter, and promisorl to bring it up for review later. The Mini.-tcr. accompanied by Mr. T. R. Aieken, private sei-retary. returned to Wellington last evening.
