AN EXTENSIVE BUILDING PROGRAMME. ESTIMATED TO COST iiI32,IHHJ. The Auckland Hospital Board met last evening, when there wire present, the chairman. Mr. W. Wallace, and Messrs. 11. X. Bagnall. .1. D. Chalmers. I-:. H. Potter. \Y. K. Hovviti. M. -I. ( iiyle. M. -I. Savage, and 0. Baildrm. In a report, which was presented to the board by the finance committee it was considered necessary that the present hospital buildings should be considerably extended. It was recommended that the board's architect lie instructed to proceed immediately with the plans and specifications of the new G.l*. block and laboratory, which would cost about £7-1.00(1. The building which would he one of live storeys, would include, a basement. and a da: roof. Tiie finance committee further recommended that the architect should be instructed to prepare sketch plans iv cmiic.tion with the erection of an infirmary vv.trd, which it was proposed to add to the ('ostley Home for Women, on lines similar to the ward at present occupied i.y male patients. The cost would be approximately £18.500, and accommodation vvould be available for "I beds.

It was also recommended that a plan fur the enlargement of the Nurses' Home, be approved. The estimated cost would be £.")S.nOO. and the accommodation would make provision for US additional beds.
