BACKBLOCK DEVELOPMENT.
SIR GEO. FUIXER'S SCHEME. (Received 9.30 a.m.* SYDNEY, this day. Cabinet has approved a set of proposals by Sir Geo. Fuller for extensive country developmental work in which lie is seeking the co-operation of the Federal Government. They include the preparing of lands for settlement, training farms, and irrigation schemes, which will provide work for unemployed and immigrants. Special attention is being directed to the Murray Valley lands in New South Wales, and Crown lands be-1 tween the Great Northern railway and I the North Coast railway, also the hydro-electric schemes at Burrinjuck and Clarence River. Sir Geo. Puller is seeking to secure an agreement with tlie Federal Government, and if necessary the British Government, to finance the" scheme.—(A. »nd N.Z. Cable.))
