TURKEY'S DEMANDS.
RETUKN OF LOST AREAS. f CONSTANTINOPLE, April 2.V The reply of the Turkish Nationalist Government at Angora to the Allied Note reiterates the demand for the absolute independence of Thrace, nnd Greek evacuation of Asia Minor simultaneously with the beginning: of the armistice. It suggests an immediate conference with Allied delegates for the purpose of preliminary pourparlers. If a ground ot mutual"understanding is discovered the. Turks are willing to proceed with peace negotiations immediately. The principal Nationalist objection to the Allied peace proposals will be on the question of the reduction of the army in Angora. The leaders arc determinedly opposed to disarmament owing to their distrust of the Entente. lvemal Pasha recently harangued Parliament, suggesting that the Entente's sole object was to deprive Turkey of her means of defence. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
