PIGEON FLYING.
EDEN CLUB. The Edeu Racing Pigeon Club held the second young-bird race from Taumarunui on Saturday. This race for the Ladles' Bracelet was fairly well patronised, a good number of members competing. The birds .were liberated by the stationmaster at 9.30 a.m., iv squally sofi'-west weather, and, considering: tbe circumstances, made good •progress. AUCKLAND CLUB. The Auckland Flying Club held their young bird championship from Palmerston North. Messrs. Hunter bros., of Ellerslie, winning tbe /up with their red chequer cock Tod Bells. WEST AUCKLAND CLUB.
The West Auckland Club flew their onebird championship from Palmerston North 245 miles, on Saturday. Only three birds homed in race time. Mr. Churchill's consistept bird Response winning by ._> minutes. Last week tbe same bird homed two hours ahead of any other bird, but was disqualified on account of a faulty clock. Fifteen lofts competed, and the winner holds tbe silver cup until next year.
